Interdisciplinary Geriatrics - A meeting of decision-makers

Dear colleagues,

For years increasing attention has been paid to gerontology and geriatric medicine, due to this emphasis we are living longer than ever before. In recent times, the entire spectrum of society has changed dramatically and this presents us with immense challenges for the future. In order to meet these challenges a lot of recent research has focussed on ageing in an active and innovative way and with the implementation of new concepts in geriatrics.

For this reason from 7 - 10 May 2014, Sanicademia - the International Academy for Health Professionals EEIG - together with the Austrian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology are organising the 4th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF GERIATRICS AND GERONTOLOGY in Venice, Italy.

We are grateful for the support and cooperation received from so many European scientific societies and foundations. We would like to thank the Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics and especially Prof. Stefania Maggi, President Elect of the EUGMS (European Union Geriatric Medicine Society) for the great support and assistance. In joint efforts we have made it possible for an international network of geriatricians to establish in Venice. We would further like to thank Dr. Kurt Possnig, Head of the Diabetes Outpatient Clinic at Klinikum Klagenfurt, for his assistance in programme planning.

Sanicademia - specialized on international project management, corssborder further education, convention management as well as consulting – is once again the convention bureau of our traditional Congress. For participants Sanicademia is your contact for any organizational question.

This year Venice will once again provide a plattform for intensive exchanges of ideas and experiences. We welcome all professionals form the Alps-Adriatic region, Croatia, Switzerland, Germany and all other European countries.

We look forward to offering you an interesting and comprehensive Congress in the Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti opposite the Accademia.
